Brussels Airport has a new terminal with very long piers, - so long that you could easily miss your flights, where you will probably arrive.
On the arrival level there is no views whatsover until just before immigration. Be sure to look to your right here through the big window as this allows a view of the opposite Melsbroek military side of the airport, usually some C130's and others there and also torwards the freight aircraft parked at the air courier gates, usually DC8's. To the left just after immigration can be seen aircraft at the centre piers.
On the departure area of the new terminal there are large picture windows, and also good views from the newspaper shop beside the duty free both left and right.
Outside the terminal there are good views down towards the Sabena maintenance base, although aircraft there are more easily seen in the taxi in from the usual landing runway and to the parked aircraft at that side. Be sure to walk torwards the airport exit as the Abelag facility handles private jets and visiting diplomatic traffic. This can also be seen briefly from a taxi heading to Brussels if you look to the right and if you keep looking right you may just get a glimpse of B747F's at the Brucargo facility at the far side of the airport.

Have you got a Virgin Express ticket or a SABENA one
code-shared with Virgin ?? in the first case, VEX is a
low cost company...low cost so no thrills at all....in
the other case, you have a little snack ! To be honest,
VEX is great for its prices but in return don't expect
great inflight service...the minimum fare for the minimum
service, not very bothering considering the flight is
only 45min !

Other good spotting sites in BRU:
When you are in the departure hall (landside), take the elevator up to the highest level. The "Promenade" level. Than go to the self-service restaurant in the back. Choose your spot and you can overlook the runway, the new B-pier, the new A-pier in construction or the cargo (DHL) site. This place is also accesible for non-travelers.
When you are in the tax free area in the new building, go to the top level and there you will find a self-service restaurant with a view on the B-pier and on the runway. Go to the other side of the top level (to the bar) and there you will have a view over the runway and the place where the planes are parked at an "external" position.
In the C-terminal you can spot the planes from the waiting area after you went down the stairs at the security control (this is for departing pax). When you arrive, you can go to the same spot, it is situated at the doors to go to the luggage hall.
But the best viewings yu can find in the Sabena restaurant. It is in the old airport builiding on level 8. From that point you can overlook the entire airport.
Now about Virgin Express. Like said before, it is a low-cost carrier. Don't expect the "grand luxe". It's actually a funny airline because there is totaly no organisation. It's a balst to see the employees struggeling with there papers trying to find some structure in their mess.
