Hello all
Why are there no international flights out of LGA beside Canada? I know Newark is a designation international along with JKF. any comments please.
I guess the state of New York can't handle 2 international airports.

Because you totally forgot about those flights to the Bahamas, Bermuda, and Aruba?
Besides those, however, there is no sizeable customs and immigration facility/presence at LaGuardia. As a result, only those places that have pre-clearance facilities can have flights that go to LGA.
Furthermore, there is a 1500 statue mile perimeter around LGA for all days except Saturday, which is why there are no flights to LAX, PHX, SFO, SEA, and the only SLC flights are on Saturday.
Burma's constitutional referendum options: A. Yes, B. Go to Insein Prison!
There are a few more as SHUPirate1 said, it's simply because LGA doesnt have the facilities to cater for large amounts of international passengers!
I would love to see BA operate a LHR-LGA daily 763/752 service or a US 752 service to LGW, i'm sure the route could be very profitable!

Thanks all. I didn't know about that. I just finished checking out the LGA site and yeah I guess I can see why they don't support much of international traffics. Didn't know they fly to few places in the caribbeans.

But added to that, LGA doesn't have any big customs and immigration facility. The international destinations out of LGA all have pre-clearance, the passengers clear US immigration and customs in that country prior to leaving, eg NAS and BDA.. Am I not correct?

Only flights that have been pre-screened can arrive at LGA, same with DCA.

I was using Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002 about two years ago, and had installed some British Airways AI traffic and amazingly, I saw a BA 767-300 at LGA! I thought it was cool, but I removed that traffic because I was aiming for realism...
