I have never flown on N102DA aka the Spirit of Delta and would love to do so before its retirement. Does anyone know what are its future routes? BTW I tried calling DL Res but they couldnt understand my question...(they thought I wanted to fly flight 767 on 10/2/05...lol) I also tried SPOTTERS
but I see no pattern in its routing. Thanks for your help in adv....

I will get the routing from work for the next few days and post later...unless somebody is able to do so before me. I am only able to access the routing 2-3 days in advance. I am also looking to do the same thing, trying to get it to fit on my off days. If memory serves me correct from yesterday when I checked, it has ATL-JAX, ATL-LGA, ATL-LAS in the next few days coming up. It seems to follow these routings somewhat frequently for your planning purposes.

Chances actually are he was talking to somebody from India who was never given a script for anything more complex than a standard round-trip.

You are right....it was someone who had a very hard time with the English language and probably was someone from out of the country! When I called DLRES again they said it was flying ATL-FLL as DL413 but I am not sure if that is N102DA or if that is just another 762.

That's Delta for you now. You probably were talking to a person from India. You can't under stand anything they say. I asked one question to change my seat and they kept telling my the flight number. Im going to stand in line at the airport instead of calling. I like Delta, but if your going to move your res dept to India, make sure they understand English.

United Airlines is even worse calling.

OMG I had no idea airlines were moving res call center functions to India now like so many other companies do.

But I'm a bit surprised because airline res agents have to know all kinds of things like fare rules and have to be able to answer a myriad of other questions too. And with the language barrier present with the people who work in these "satellite call centers" over there, I can't imagine anything more stupid ! On top of the fact that they're taking jobs away froom Americans, but thats another issue entirely!

That would be because Reservations has no way of know what aircraft is flying what route on any given day....they could care less. I'm sure their computer system is in no way tied into the flight tracking computer and they have no access to it even if they wanted it. As has been said hundreds of times when a question like this comes up, to an airline employee no one really cares what plane is scheduled to fly a certain line because that changes on a near hourly basis. There are dozens of things that come up every day that can change a line so to set to memory or even a flight on a specific aircraft is all but futile.

As someone that has flown on 102, it was nothing at all special and I don't even recall seeing any special mention or markings on the interior. It was just like any other 767 in Delta's fleet.

BZZZZZ! Wrong. Anyone at Delta can track an aircraft. Its a quick 3 letters and the ship number, and it will pull up the scheduled tracking on any aircraft for the next 3-4 days. And believe it or not, there are many employees at Delta to who care what planes are scheduled to fly. Of course, it can always be changed last minute, but especially to the people working the gates, they really care what planes are flying where. Have you ever tried to buy people off a flight when your plane gets downgraded? Its like pulling teeth.

Just type in 3 letters and the ship number, in this case, 102, and there is the routing.

Usually, placed like, JAX, TPA, SJU, LAS, SLC, LGA, PBI, and RSW usually have her. They are stations that usually have a lot of 762 service.

Ah yes I know that, and at one time I knew enough about Deltamatic to get around in it. My point being if I called Res right now and said I wanted to fly only on ship 102 they'd tell me to go away they don't have time for such a request.

You can get someone in India, Los Angeles, or Atlanta, and they still wouldn't know what you are taking about. General reservations does not need to know ship tracking information. Why? Because only about .000001% of callers care, ie: a.netters.

I was gonna ask a favor of my friend in routing to get the flights for 102 untill the end of the month, but you guys can stick it now. Even the most innocent Delta posts turn into bash fests. You people need to grow up. This post has nothing to do with Delta's reservation call center locations.

Awesome, thanks. Is this aircraft still scheduled for SAN-ATL tomorrow morning? The weather is looking horrible here in So Cal, but I'd like to try and get some photos of her tomorrow as she's leaving.

Appreciate your help!

As of a few hours back when I left work, things appear to be holding true. If you notice the updated routing for Wednesday, you may be able to catch on Thursday AM also. Thursday has not been loaded yet into the system. I am planning to fly it on Wednesday for the ATL-FLL turn.

I didn't think I was bashing delta. Im just saying you can't understand these people from India. How hard is it to change a seat. The people from India just give me my flight number. If I get someone from India I just hang up and call again. Im not the one paying for the phone bill anyways to India.

N509JB, we can stick it, Seems like your not a happy camper!

A friend of mine that fly's for DALA told me that 102DA is in bad shape and is always broken compared to the other 762s. He said its jinxed. He told me in 1985 both engines were lost on takeoff. It had something to do with fuel valves and transfers. I got to fly on 102 in 2000. Cool plane, im going will miss the 762.
