New Photos Of Almost-completed New BFL Terminal!

I have to admit, so far, I'm impressed with what I see. I sure wish United Express would fly BFL-DEN and America Eagle would fly BFL-DFW.

Can't find anything on the official opening date yet, though. I am going to try to time a visit up there to mom and dad's where I can fly into the old terminal and fly out of the new one. My luck that weekend it will be $500+.

That would be a really cool idea. So you better take nice pics so that you can write a good trip report. Is there flights between Bakersfield and San Diego? I don't know if there is at this point, unlike the PSA days; the good old innocent days!

Yes, they're expected sometime early, or early mid next year. But they're not using that new terminal. They'll be using the old current terminal as that will become the new international facility. I really hope that they keep it as is, with the nice little grass lawn with the viewing facility next to the tarmac. So that we can get a close look of Mexicana's babybuses up close and personal.

The public grand opening ceremonies are Sunday November 13. That includes tours of the facility.

I've heard conflicting info about the actual first flight date. I've heard Monday Nov 14 but I've also heard it might be later. Best to contact the airport before booking something.

Last time I was there I was on an M404 transferring to an F-27

i really believe mexicana is going to start soon service to BFL
Mexicana just announced a national U.S. soccer championship which will include all the 15 cities they fly in the U.S...and includes Baltimore and Bakersfield. This will be due in the first semester of next year. The prize is to fly to MAX to compete in important stadiums.
Mexican is celebrating 70 years of flying to the United States.. You can check the whole thing at their website mexicana.com
