Hey everyone! I'm doing a project for one of my classes, and I was thinking about it, and remembered seeing a proposal that Alaska Airlines/Horizon had written up, to send to the city it wanted to start service to (somewhere in California), and it talked about noise issues, the passengers it would carry in, the terminal adjustments that would need to happen, and a bunch of other things. Can any of you guys help me find it? Thanks in advance!

ASSFO would probably know about this.
Quoting Frontiercpt (Thread starter): it talked about noise issues, the passengers it would carry in, the terminal adjustments that would need to happen, and a bunch of other things
However, it sounds to me like John Wayne/Orange County. That is the only airport they serve in California that has that many stringencies all rolled into one.

Well, I remember it being a new service proposal, to a city that they didn't serve, that they really wanted to, but the city wasn't too sure they wanted them. Ya, hopefully he will check this out. I'm pretty sure that they city was in cental California. Anyways, thanks, ttyl.

Frontiercapt: SNA does have many restriction that we and all the carriers have to adhear to. The same goes for Long Beach. But when it comes to coming proposals or planned service, I really don't see anything on the horizon of upcoming cities for Alaska in California. No other cities in CA justify mainline service. The rumors and chat is out on Horizon service to Modesto,Ca and Santa Rosa,Ca. Now Modesto, if planes are available can happen soon. Santa Rosa on the other hand has been very picky and said they want a CR7, which it can't handle on a 5000' runway.
Drop me a message and I'll give you my e-mail. Also, drop a line to EA CO AS, he may be able to dig something up. But if this is for a project, I may be able to direct you to a person to talk to, but I'll be out of work after Wed. for 10 days while I tranfer.

I've heard the Modesto and Santa Rosa rumblings, but nothing else in California is in the works that I know of. Last I'd heard the next major market for mainline service was to be ATL, but that still hasn't materialized.

Hmm, do you guys remember seeing in any of the recent posts (within this last week) that had a link to the proposal? I'm 99% sure that I ran across it here. The thread was about the service, but one of the reply's had the link to the proposal in it.

IIRC, from what I understand a group representing Santa Rosa was in SEA last week pitching their city to QX.

Frontier: I think you are a little confused. I think you were reading the post in regards to AS/QX proposal to King County about Boeing Field operations. That had noise concerns, etc in it. That is the only AS/QX news with a proposal in it.

AS739X, hehe, I'm such a dumbbutt, I just typed in proposal into the search feature, ant it brought up a few threads about BFI, and it clicked, ya, it was BFI that I was thinking about. I don't know how I got California into that, lol. Well, great, that ends this search...now to wait for my next project, lol. Thanks guys for all you help! Oh, by the way, here is the proposal for those who may be interested. http://www.alaskasworld.com/NEWS/200.../AAG%20King%20County%20Airport.pdf
