"The company said it expects to report "a modest profit" in the third quarter, supported by a "relatively strong performance" in July and August. On average, analysts polled by Thomson Financial expect the company to earn 17 cents per share on sales of $2.99 billion. Among the range of estimates, the high end targets earnings at 29 cents per share, while the low end predicts a per-share loss of 5 cents."

Great news for CO considering all of the events that happened duing Q3.

Modest or not, any profit in these rough times for the industry is a positive, especially for a 'legacy carrier'.

That's because in July/August I flew a total of 19 segments on them, in September only 3. Wink

No doubt the paycut is the only reason they will turn a profit in Q3. If they start making good cash in poorer performing Q4 and 2006 Q1, then start complaining by all means. But not yet.

Yeah, take your pay raises back, and CO will be working in a sea of red ink. I don't think CO even wants to see the red tails they codeshare with at this point, let alone red ink. Patience! Smile

Keep the customer service at the level its currently at, and there's no doubt that CO's financial position will continue to improve.

Unless you realize that it wasn't "your money" in the first place but that you were taking too much of "their money" for the airline to survive, CO's long term prospects will be bad. If all the employees think that they "loaned" CO money, they are sorely mistaken.

While i understand nobody likes earning less than they did before, airline employees must understand one simple fact: the industry has changed and you will NEVER get the pay you once did during the fat years. if you can not deal with this reality, find another profession while you are still young.

Haha. Those were all (but 4) out of my own pocket in July/Aug. I'm not paid enough to do more than that, and it's hard when all your travel is primarily on weekends. Sad

Way to go CO. I just flew them from Vancouver to MOnterrey and once again a great flight with a great crew and great service. Since I moved over to CO from AA I have had nothing but great service. Hence the name CO737800. I cant wait to fly them again on Oct 23 back to YVR via Seattle, my first time on a CO739
