It may sound great, but aren't there a lot of restrictions and certain lengths that have to be achieved before one can fly into DCA? What could those intell?

They are ridiculous, but the rich corporate clients who have meetings with government officials will probably like flying into National where they are only a few minutes from downtown DC. Saves time rather than flying to Dulles or BWI or Manassas.

National should have never been re-opened due to its proximity to the capitol and the white house. IAD and BWI could handle the traffic. It was only re-opened for congressmen and congresswomen wanting to catch a flight to their home district.

National is probably the most secure airport in the country...I'm tired of hearing people say that it should have never reopened...I mean think about it. The plane that slammed into the Pentagon came from Dulles...why? because DCA is simply too well secured. It is a vital part of the local economy and is probably one of the most convenient and accessible airports in the USA, if not the world. DCA is among the safest in the world and it'll always be.

You do not have a clue about DCA, do you? Stick to your Florida Airports
Even though it is in Virginia, it still is considered D.C's airport. It is a popular Arrival or Departure destination as you could be off of a plane and in downtown D.C for business or vacation in about 10 minutes time compared to the hour + it would take to commute from BWI or IAD. If traffic is bad, add an additional 1 to 2 hours onto your commute easily.
As it was already said, no plane was taken on 9-11 from DCA. So why would you close it down? What makes you think it is not safe? 2 marshalls on every flight, the secret service tracking every flight into the area, ready to take action from the rooftop of 1600 Pennslyvania Ave. if need be. Pilots know what to avoid, when coming or going to DCA. Are there infractions every now and then coming out of DCA? Yes, most times it is due to avoiding a flock of birds flying along the river and a plane will fly into P-56 to avoid a strike. Does the Secret Service like that? No. Do they deal with it? Yes.
