Subject: New Kansas City-Florida Service
I'm happy to share the news that, effective December 15, we are adding
service between Kansas City and Florida -- including new nonstop service to
Tampa and added frequency on our popular Ft. Lauderdale route.
Both routes will operate as Signature Service, using the capacity that will
be available from the pull-down of Milwaukee-Houston. Although that route
did not perform as expected, the new Kansas City-Tampa service will offer
nonstop service on an existing connecting route, while the new Kansas
City-Ft. Lauderdale flight will increase frequency on an existing nonstop
route -- significantly increasing the revenue-generating potential of the
aircraft. Our only nonstop competition will be a single daily Southwest
flight between Kansas City and Tampa.
As you know, we previously announced the launch of nonstop service from
Kansas City to Orlando, Pittsburgh and San Diego beginning October 31.
Including the new service announced today, Midwest Airlines will offer
nonstop service from Kansas City to 12 destinations with 23 departures each
weekday, and connecting service via Milwaukee to dozens more.
It's always a pleasure to expand service, because it means even more
travelers will have the opportunity to experience "The best care in the
air." Thank you for everything you will personally do to provide customers
with the great service for which we are so well known.
Schedules and fares for the new service are now available in computerized

Wasn't too long after the announcement of the MCI-MCO service for this to happen. It will be an excellent opportunity for YX to really grow and show how much they have to offer, especially covering the routes that WN has.

Great news for Midwest! Their MCI routes seem to be doing very with all of the recent additions. Does anybody have the load factors for Midwest's flights? Too bad that the MKE-HOU route didn't work out. It seems that Midwest has peaked with MKE service and is completely focusing on MCI now.
