Checking some random dates, don't know the start date,
Su Feb 26, Mo Feb 27, Su Mar 26
8 flights to ATL, including 2 DOUBLE-UPS (my own word!) normally called an extra section...but i cant tell which is extra, they're both scheduled flt #s..and this happens TWICE each day! Never seen that before except, like day after Thanksgiving or something.

Well that's interesting, I wonder why they don't just send a larger aircraft? I guess this helps offset the loss of the 2 CRJs to CVG and the loss of ATA. They seem to be matching a couple of AirTrans routes. I was checking the AirTran site, they are only planning 2 a day to ATL on Saturdays. Usually Sat is the busiest day for SRQ.

what 250 seat aircraft were you suggesting they send to SRQ exactly?
Of all the things to worry about... the Wookie has no pants.

Does it have to be 250?
How about Song 757's ? Not quite 250 but close at 199. How about 767-400's at 251 seats? I guess those are going all international. What would you rather do? Fly 1 aircraft with 1 crew with 250 seats? Or fly 2 aircraft with 2 crews and 250 seats? I'm thinking that 2 of those flights are going to come off the schedule.

More bad news, AirTran is making the BOS flight Sat only starting Dec 6th or so, citing low bookings. Also reducing Sat ATL service. Maybe in mid Feb they will increase it back up.

An LCC can't make SRQ-BOS daily during winter??? That's surprising to me.

CRAP!! Just checked airtran.com, looks like you're right. At least I didn't see any RSW-BOS flights, he he.
OK, so no ATA, now this. Is this airport going downhill again?

No way, this year SRQ will have direct flights to 18 destinations, including 4 to Canada. Last year Airtran started out with 4 flights a day to ATL and BWI, this spring they will have 8 or 9 a day to 7 destinations. Delta added BOS and LGA and is increasing to 8 ATL flights a day, plus AA to STL. We did loose ATA though, which sucks.
