Last night on the tarmac at barksdale AFB (Shreveport, LA) I saw an ex-Lauda pax 737-600. It had recently had its logo painted over and the news regs were literally this somewhat thick panel glued onto the fuselage. The livery in general was completely intact and easily recognizable.
Anybody know what this plane was doing there? I figured it was purchased by either the USAF or some charter operation and is being used to move people around. Barksdale AFB is used as a logistics base for the hurricane relief efforts in the south.

It is supposed to have the civil reg N743NV (ex OE-LNL) and has been leased to the US Navy since 2003, though I don´t know for which purpose.
Still I would like to know more about it´s fate; I heard two completely different things lately: Either it will be returned to NG (or better, OS) for pseudo LCC flights from INN and SZG (like the other NG 736 OE-LNM in special colors) or OE-LNM will also be leased (also to the US Navy?) because OS doesn´t really like the 737-600. In this case OS could get another 737-700 or -800.
Another possibility is that everything stays as it is right now.
