Look on Travelocity... The only itinerary I found meeting your criteria follows:

July 1, 2000
UA 1616 DFW-ORD 1756-2015 737-500
UA 670   ORD-LGA  2100-2356 727-200

July 15, 2000
UA 689   LGA-ORD  1000-1127 737-300
UA 1923 ORD-DFW 1156-1413 737-500

Fare is $165 Roundtrip

You might want to try http://www.priceline.com also, I found a DFW-EWR flight for $175 on CO. You can enter the max you want to pay, then it will search for your flight and if it finds something within your price range, it will reserve it and will charge your account.

Try Expedia.com and try to avoid a nonstop flight. One stop flights,
changing planes in a hub, while inconvenient and annoying, is usually

Try a routing like DFW-PIT-LGA on US Airways or DFW-CLE-LGA on
Continental, DFW-ORD-LGA on UA, DFW-STL-LGA on TW, etc....... or
try Southwest Airlines, from Love Field, connecting somewhere.
Southwest does not fly to JFK or LGA or Newark, but they do fly into
Islip, Long Island MacArthur Airport.

Good luck.

I found a special deal that might be of interest to you.

I scoured the web, and found the best deal I saw was on Bestfares.com--they usually do have the best deals, anyway--I got tickets for my upcoming trip to Toronto for $175 when the fare on AC was $330...*and* it's open-jaw!

In any case, here's the deal: It's what they call a "Snooze, You Lose" special...it's a really low fare, but it only lasts for a limited period of time. This deal may or may not have expired by now--there's no expiration date on the offer, but sometimes they do without anyone telling you.

Anyway, it's a fare for $156 R/T from Dallas to NYC (airports not specified). There is a minimum stay of one night, and the ticket must be purchased 7 days in advance of travel.

To check this out, what you'll want to do is call (800) 645-7829 between 9am and 6pm CST. When they ask you what story number you're looking for, tell them 10079955.

Also, just as general information, depending on what airline you fly on, they might charge you a $20-30 fee for handling an unaccompanied minor. It really depends on whether the itinerary involves a change of planes...no change of planes, no fee.

I checked NW's flight schedule, and they do not have any continuing or nonstop flights to any of the NYC airports. All connecting flights change in either Detroit or Memphis. You'll have to call them directly about whether they charge for unaccompanied minors or not, because it doesn't say on their website (argh...what an exasperating site...AirTran has that information readily available on their site).

Hope this helps you out...

If this person were to have their child go on SWA, they'd have to buy two seperate tickets...one from DAL to MSY or LIT or HOU, and then another from there to ISP. Plus, their child would have to make at least two changes of plane, most likely, and because SWA prices by segment, not by trip, the fare would likely be rather high.

I love SWA, but for this sort of trip, they don't make any sense. When minors are flying, you generally want to find either a nonstop or a one-stop. At the bare minimum, you should get a one-connection trip, because you want as little chance of something getting fouled up and having the kid sent off to the wrong destination or lost or something.

Priceline is a NO-Go I tried to get a ticket for my 14 year old brother. Airline policy states that no unattended minors can fly on the last flight of the day. This way if the flight is cancelled the minor is not stranded in an airport. And since you can only select your dates with priceline, they can not gaurentee that you will not be booked on the last flight.

I'm on the same boat but im leavign the 8th comming back on the 13th of july, i arranged it so i could take the big planes, DFW-ATL #16 L1011, last one i will ever take, then ATL-EWR #820 Md-80, the EWR-ATL #2293,727, ATL-DFW #467 767-300. I am going on miles but i herd Legend is doing like a $109 round trip to LGa, but you might want to check the dates on when thats effective. Most of the discount flight go through LGA i have never seen one go through JFK. I think on delta dfw-ewr with stops is about $225 maybe...? and americans is about the same, but keep looking you will probrobly find a better price.

Go big or go home

Legend is an amazing airline, but unfortunately, they will not begin serving LGA until September.

So far, the best deal I can find is one on NW through BestFares, which I mentioned earlier.
