All Finnair MD11s will receive these stickers shortly and they will be worn until 6th January. A shame that the reindeer is not with him like last time around...

Oh yes! And even Kittilä (it too in Lapland) is big enough. Finnair has during the last two winters had some of there regular routes from HEL to Rovaniemi and Kittilä operated by MD11s. Either the demand has been so high or they have had to upgrade their cabin crews for MD11s because of the expnading Asian traffic. Or maybe both at the same time?

Rovaniemi gets it fare share of AYs Asian traffic on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, when flights from Osaka (Dec 24th at 15.20) and Tokyo (Dec 25th at 15.20) land there after nonstop flights from Japan on route to HEL.

Rovaniemi and some other northen airports in Finland get VERY busy at Christmas time, hundreds of charter planes arriving from Europe.
Christmas has become a big business there in up north, I was just wondering why they haven't done the same in Sweden and Norway or is it in process? You just need an airport, snow, reindeers and Santa...

These pictures should really be on Turkish aircraft as Santa (St Nicholas) is from the village of Patara on the south coast of Turkey. Kiddies wouldn't have so much fun down there though.

For the last few years they've only used small "official airline of Santa Claus"-stickers next to the boarding door, but for this year all MD-11s will receive these billboard-sized Santas. At the end of the last decade the applied those huge Santa avec reindeer-stickers to MD-11(OH-LGC), B757(OH-LBR/O/T), MD-82(OH-LMN) and Saab SF340(OH-FAH). Moomins have been flying on DC-10 and MD-11.

Finnair is finally encouraged to use the billboard-signs after watching enough of "The King's 72nd Celebration" (TG) etc. stuff on other airlines..
