Ok, I know this is late, but I just thought about it.

How was WN affected on the days/months following Katrina, due to the Wright Amendment? Was it allowed to fly, for example, DAL-JAX nonstop? Does it still do that?

DAL7e7 is wondering... Do pilots take crash courses?

I'm not sure I understand the question. Flights with more than 56 passengers cannot depart DAL for a state that isn't part of the legislation.

Even during Katrina, WN didn't operate flights to remote cities, and Dallas really wasn't affected too badly.

No, no DAL-JAX flights.

The first couple of days after Katrina's landfall, some flights (roundtrips) were cancelled, and some (through flights) became overflights, i.e. HOU-MSY-JAX became HOU-JAX.

After it a few days, a new schedule was quickly developed that re-deployed the MSY aircraft elsewhere.
