A light aircraft hit a crane and crashed killing 4 people this afternoon near Sabadell airport. It is the second fatal crash near the airport in less than a month. Neighbors are concerned about the safety and want the airport to be closed and moved away from the area.

Definitely. But I think the neighbors, who have also complained for years about the noise, want to use the opportunity to get rid of the whole airport.
At the moment the airport is closed until investigations prove the crane meets the safety regulations.

I think Sabadell airport should be closed. 6 people have died this last week in two diferent accidents. It is not a question of noise, it is also a serious problem of safety.

This airport has been there for a lot of years, the problem is the fast growing metropolitan area of Barcelona, but I just don't understand how lots of cities (like Chicago, for example) have lots of small airports in their sorroundings, without problems... we have just this one!
Anyway who has bought a house near there, must have known, that this straight 1km. road in the middle of all this grass, is an airport, and not a car testing center, and there are planes flying out of it.
It will be very sad if they decide to close the airport.
