In terms of whatever, I was going to imply carrier aircraft purchases form a specific company rather than all else, but I guess it could apply to pax, services, etc.

How important is it? Does it matter?

As for airlines and manufacturers, all is fair in business. Airlines will always go for whoever offers the best all-around deal with, of course, an eye on the big picture.

In terms of passenger loyalty, being loyal to a specific airline isn't always easy, because they don't always go where you want to go. Also, if fares are considerably better on a competitor, unless you take issue with the product that the competitor offers, you could not be faulted for opting for the cheaper rate.

I would think that this is all fairly obvious, though.

Loyalty is important in any business.

Where is the line between loyalty and patriotism?

In the US, jobs are an issue and if an american carrier goes else where for an airplane besides those manufactures based here, what will they loose if it is just business?

Also, Brokenrecord, that statement ride in with the 80/20 rule pretty well, that those customers bring in the most revenue comes from those that are loyal.

Passenger loyalty is EXTREMLY important to air carriers, especially the "legacy carriers". These airlines have established themselves many many years ago but LCC have come in and taken some of those "not so loyal passengers". What is keeping "legacy carriers" alive are those people that keep coming back to them years after years and refuse to fly LCC.

What in the world are you trying to say? Your post makes no sense to this fluent english speaker.

If you're talking about passenger loyalty, it is everything. You treat people right and they come back. That is how you make money in this business.

Tired of airline bankruptcies....EA/PA/TW and finally DL.
