To all: For some time now, the orders website has listed an upcoming UAL order for 764 or A332's. I would have thought the 764 simply because of the large UAL fleet of 767's and 757's. Some UAL employees I am acquainted with think it's not so cut and dry.
Anyone have any thoughts or info to share?

In favour of 767-400: UAL in fleet service of this type, shares cocpit similarities with 767 and 777, as cabin lay-out is the same as the latter. UAL never bought an Airbus long-haul aircraft. Pilots who have to fly the 764 now fly 767 or 757 and not A320 so that would give problems. In favour of Airbus, maybe the fact that USAIRWAYS bought them and if the merger goes on, ...
But according to me 764.

Neither!!! UA has no need for that size of aircraft since they now have two-class 763 and 777 planes. The orders website seem to give credit to any rumor that then lives on its own. They also tried to say UA is the customer for unannounced 777-300s ordered in January with PW. Those may go to KE, OZ, or perhaps MS but NO WAY UA is getting 777-300. The777Man
