I just received a call that an AI Airbus A300 is on fire at BOM airport after landing from TRV. An evacuation is in progress through the chutes. Preliminary reports imply approximately 150 pax on board.
Its hard to keep tabs on this from the other side of the world but I will try to keep it updated.

No pics yet, but the Tuesday papers in BOM might have some. It was contained pretty quickly from what I hear. This is an eyewitness account below :
The aircraft and pax are all doing fine. The fire occured while PUSHING BACK from the gate, rather than after arrival. The fire was contained within minutes (it was located only inside the nose gear compartment and did not spread), but the commander ordered an evacuation just to be on the safe side. Everything worked like clockwork, and by the time xxx got there (his office is maybe 300 yards away from the gate), it was all over bar the shouting. The aircraft (VT-EHO) is expected to be back in service within the week, barring any other problems discovered during the investigation.
