Hey,
Just a heads-up. I have just heard that these two are currently at LGW for a sci-fi convention in East Grinstead. Apparently the 707 is here and Tom Cruise's gulfstream. I didn't even know he owned a plane let alone flew it? Shame I wasn't around to catch the arrival when it came in, have wanted to see this plane for ages!
Happy flying!

Who's plane? Cruises? If he owns one (not sure he does) I seriously doubt he flies it himself. I bet he couldn't see over the dashboard.
I doubt it is a sci-fi convention. See the blurb below from a biography of L. Ron Hubbard. I'm guessing some high poobah gathering of Scientology folks.
"In 1959, he bought Saint Hill Manor near the Sussex town of East Grinstead, a Georgian manor house formerly owned by the Maharajah of Jaipur. This became the worldwide headquarters of Scientology."

Yes, that was it, scientology, I think, not sci-fi. Maybe he really does fly the gulfstream, would be news to me though,

And he has a private licence so he flies something
I stand corrected. With his height I guess he has to fly IFR everywhere.
Quoting LMP737 (Reply 4): Scientology, sci-fi, same thing.
Watch out. The lawsuit from the Scientology lawyers is on the way.

Yea Tom Cruise flies the Gulfstream (as does John fly his aircraft). My mom clipped an article about him flying in some magazine (People?).
Why do all the wierd actors have to fly? (Note: Except Harrison Ford, he's awesome)

Ok, the question I have is: Who cares?
I mean, are these two people special? Do they possess the power to make our lives better? Do they put their pants on differently from the rest of us?

Why do you have to go jumping at him like that? He was simply letting others know that both John Travolta's and Tom Cruise's aircraft are there at LGW, not trying to worship them or anything.
If you don't care, then why don't you just ignore this post?

I wasn't "jumping at" the original poster; just asking a question.
Quoting Je89_w (Reply 14): He was simply letting others know that both John Travolta's and Tom Cruise's aircraft are there at LGW
And how is that news? Put another way - and in better perspective - how many Gulfstreams or other coroporate jets are at LGW at any given time? Do the other business jets deserve a unique topic thread on A.Net?
Quoting Je89_w (Reply 14): not trying to worship them or anything.
On the contrary, this thread seams very much like idol worship.
Quoting Je89_w (Reply 14): If you don't care, then why don't you just ignore this post?
Normally, I would but I couldn't resist since it's obvious the original poster - and perhaps you - make a habit of fawning over indulgent celebrities.

Yeah, just like all the other actresses out here are naturally very thin only after they arrive on the scene, but were normal before.
She either didn't eat what she claimed or was using a finger down the throat.
As for why we care about the airplanes? Well, I think it's pretty cool that JT has an old QF 707 and flies it. I'd like to do that.
As for TC, I really don't care.

Don't you think that John Travolta's B707 in the classic QF livery is special? Or do you think it is some "boring" biz jet? Of course that would be great news for any LGW spotters, that classic B707 sure looks smart. What does having a unique business jet topic on A.net have to do with anything? I don't think you're getting the point here, RedFlyer.

Mr. Cruise owns GV (not 500 or 550). He has a type rating in same. He owns two acrobatic planes & has equity investment in several others. He (at times) has his acrobatic planes ferried to filming locations for his personal R&R.
His GV tail number is N808T. His acrobatic planes are also within airliners database.

RedFlyer made an important announcement today. Everyone is to drop what they are doing at the moment and read it. Once again, RedFlyer has been awoken and made an important announcement today, everyone is to drop whatever it is that they are doing and read it. As we all know, no one or anything is more important than RedFlyer as he is ruler of his known world. That is all. Now that you have read the important announcement from RedFlyer (and if you haven't stop reading this, drop what you are doing, and read it, then come back to this point in the announcement) you may return to your pointless, inconsequential lives that are surely rank in the doldrums of the world compared to Red Flyers.
