Since Delta announced that Song amenities will be integrated into mainline, what are the chances that Delta will install PTVs in the coach section of the 767-400 fleet?

Delta's 767-400s are prewired for the installation of PTVs in coach, and is already featured in the first class section of the aircraft. The 8 767-400s for international services will also feature PTVs on their BusinessElite section.

Also, if the 767-400s are planned to get PTVs, can anybody tell me which other aircraft are slated for their installtion?

I wouldn't really hold my breath... its an expense that Delta probably won't want to bear at this point.

It is, however, something they would probably like to do going forward as part of their plan to reinvent themselves.

As you should know though, Delta says that they plan on expanding the Song services onto longer flights. The 767-400 serves long flights such as ATL/CVG-HNL, and is going to be utilized on international flights.

When will we know or are they already released about the 764ER's to international destinations? Also any idea on the configuration (amount of seats in J & Y classes)?

As for the configuration, that has not been revealed yet.

The DL 764s are prewired for IFE? Why would you prewire it and not implement it? Why carry the weight of all the cables (isnt it like 3,000 lbs of cable for a cabin that size?), pay the penalty in fuel, and not utilize it?

Seeing all 'trans-cons' will have PTVs and many of the Hawai'i flights have ATL-LAX/SFO legs tagged onto them, I would think that the 767-400s will get the improved Song amenities. Also, since Hawai'i flights are over 1,750 miles that would also indicate that they are slated for the step-up in service.

You can tell that they are prewired for PTVs, as they have PTV remotes in coach and the metal boxes under the seats.

Because they always planned on implementing it at some point. Watch for it to happen sooner than later as well as on the 763s!

Actually, the 767-300s, especially the non-ERs, really need their IFE updated. They use projection screens and analog dials for channel/volume.
