I am considering applying for WN inflight. Would anybody be able to tell me what to expect? What is the most likely base I could be assigned? How long on reserve? What is the average monthly/annual income?

At Southwest we rotate reserve. For your 1st month you are assigned a hard line to get you acclimated to our culture. For months 2-6 you are on reserve and you bid for your days off, ( a minimum of 13 per month). When you are off probation after 6 months you rotate reserve until you reach the top 35% of the base. The most junior bases are BWI, MDW and OAK. Good luck and I encourage you to apply; this is a great job with the best company in the world!

Right now, I'm told that Oakland seems to a probable base right out of training. BWI is likely too. MCO is a little harder to get, but you should be able to get it after flying for a while.
Southwest pays a lot differently than every other airline except Alaska. They pay for a trip. Every 243 miles flown is a trip. Keep that in mind when you look at Southwest's payscales. I know Alaska's you multiply by something like 1.16 to convert it from miles to hours in order to compare to other carriers. I do not know if that holds true for Southwest. I'm on another website (pay to join) and they are saying somewhere between $15,000 and $20,000 the first year, with most falling between $17,000 and $18,000.
