Noticed this aircraft earlier today.

Are Kulula or One Time robbing it for spares?

Anyone know the story and aircraft reg?

Are you sure about a DC-9 of USAir(ways)?

My parents flies in ten days from DUR to PLZ with a DC-9 of South African Express (SA0692) - as I know this aircraft must be the former Southeast DC-9-32 47797/913 or 47798/914.

But I havent see any picture of the two SA DC-9.

AMSSFO, I just got a glance of it when my flight was taxiing from the runway to the terminal and I assumed it was a DC-9. But it looked like the same plane in your photo's.

It's one of two former US F100s acquired by IRS Airlines of Nigeria. It arrived at JNB at July 27 2004 for overhaul, its N860US reg was canc August 20 2004 but it never got a 5N-reg, since then it stayed at JNB in basic US c/s with missing nose and tail cone. Don't know when it will fly again (if ever).

Her sister ship N861US/ 11297 arrived at JNB at August 13 2004, It was repainted and delivered to IRS in November 2004 with reg 5N-COO. It was damaged when the right gear collapsed after landing with hydraulic problems at Lagos at June 29 2005. Don't know whether it's flying again.
