I am proposing that some well known airlines should change their present livery for one more atractive. I mean, look at Alitalia´s. They need to change it right away. Other carriers that need a new look are:

Singapore Airlines
KLM
Iberia
American Airlines
VASP
Aerolineas Argentinas
Avianca
RAM
Air India
ANA

they are more than "wasted".

Singapore: No.
KLM: No, it's individual, but maybe a slight facelift.
Iberia: A slight facelift would do them good, but if the planes are clean it is a GREAT livery (you need to see it in person)
American: Hard decision. A very workable and understated livery, it would be very hard in my opinion to change it and get a good result.
VASP: I agree. It should be changed.
Aero Arg: Kind of a copy of Iberia in blue. Should be changed but keep the same colors.
Avianca: Why not.
RAM: I think it should be changed, but there's no rush.
Air India: Keep the cool windows, otherwise definitely change right away!!!!
ANA: Definitely NOT!! It is elegant yet functional, not too under-or overstated, and could last another 5 or so years.
I agree Alitalia needs to change its livery.

Just a critique of the critique!

In my opinion SIA needs to change right now. Those strict lines makes it too old for the modern fleet. Mybe if they take those lines off and leave the dragon on the tail with som details in a slight lift of the body.

I guess you're right. But I would not like to get rid of the cheatline by any means. And don't forget it should not be too bright because then the livery would lose its 'business' edge.

Change Alitalias' scheme? No way! Maybe clean-up the lettering some, but leave it alone. That goes for Singapore Airlines. Some of the airlines you mentioned though like KLM(they should adapt the scheme on their Brazilian RJs), Varig needs help, Iberia overdue, VASP could do better, Aero Argen, Avianca, and ANA are ready for some new imaging. American Airlines and Air India would be hard designs to change too much. AA has always had the "natural" finish. Air India had lots to explain for when they tried to change their "palaces in the sky" scheme. Not only is the window treatment very popular in their home market, but the last attempt to change the scheme met with harsh criticism.

Varig need no help at all!! It is a great livery. You are right on about the KLM ERJ thing, though. But ANA now way!

Aeroflot:
keep the Boeing tail & engines but get rid of the cheatline and have a blue base.

Aero Argen:
needs a facelift

Air china:
keep the tail, get rid of the blue cheatline.

Air France:
could make the tail colours rap around the rear of the plane

Air India:
Do something with the tail!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alitalia:
not too bad but needs something diofferent.

ANA:
Perfect as it is

American,
Do something with the ridged stripes

Iberia:
Looks fine when clean but could do with a slight change

JAL:
Bring back the blue!
the grey is so depressing.

KLM:
should adopt the colours of KLMuk, cityhopper, exel, alps ect:

Lufthansa:
could do with replacing the grey with blue.

Malaysia:
too much grey

Olympic:
Which colour scheme do they have at the moment?
I likes the cheatline with the light blue, yellow and dark blue in it, better then the all blue one.

Royal Air Maroc:
needs something else.

Singapore:
fine, the only thing I dont like is the band of orange down the back of the tail.

South African:
The old one was better, I liked the springbok,
all that needed was a small touch-up, not a all white plane.

TAP:
OLD.

United:
Depressing.

Uzbekistan:
Too much colour.

Varig:
absolutly perfect.
miles better then the old tatty one.

I agree with UK FLY that TAP AirPortugal is kind of old. Others:

+SAA old livery was horrible. The new one it´s good, but is too white.
+Egypt Air is so so. Maybe a change in the body with more colors.
+CO needs a nice look. That globe in the tail could be redesign with a body lift. Take out the gray, put a vibrant color there.
+UAL its good, but its too dark. Clear colors would make it pefect with thw contrast with the dark.
+SWA its strange. Those colors are really confusing. If they get rid of one would make it better looking.
+Lanchile is the one of the most beautiful liveries i´ve ever seen. Just gorgeous!!!
+Transbrasil is really nice too. The new rainbow in the tail is excellent.
+Canadian and Air Canada are fine. Pretty and usefull.
+JAL is too white. A blue would make loose the japanese heritage. Maybe more red will do it.
+Qantas is awright. Works well.
+Saudi Arabia is different and i like it.
+Sabena is finding its course. Keep going with the new tail.
+Swissair needs to cahnge the tail. Maybe something closer to Crossair, but with the red and white of course.
+Finnair brand new look its worse than the new one.Shoudn´t have changed.
+Delta is OK but i rather the old one the the lines and the nice curves in the end of it.
+AirFrance would do it with a lift in the tail and some slight colors in the body
+TAM it´s fine too. The all red livery works. I also think that the old one was ok too.
+NWA can change something. But don´t take the nice colors out. Maybe a redesign.
+TWA just keep it.
+TACA group is really interesting.
+Air NewZealand its brilliant!!!!!
+Cathay Pacific it´s awesome!!
+AirChina can make somthing with those sad colors. A red could make it more like a chinese spirit.
+Thai Airways its beautifull!!
+Lufthansa maybe needs some new colors in the body instead of the gary and white. Don´t take the purple and the yellow out.

I think that´s enough...

I agree

AA 's colour scheme is really VERY OLDFASHIONED, the metallic grey really looks '50s!

Alitalia and KLM and AF also need some improvements.

The colour schemes I love:

Balair (at the time they had the blue belly and the yellow wings)

British Airways World Colours

Delta (not the newest one which looks very russian : aeroflot, but the one just before with the blue stripe)
Why did they change again they colour scheme? Wasn't it popular?

Some liveries that should be changed:

Aeroflot - get rid of the blue old cheatline!

UAL - too dark.

JAL - this airline could learn a thing or two from ANA.

Thai - livery really needs updating with a still Thai theme.

Swissair - shouldn't have gotten rid of those neat black and grey cheatlines. Otherwise, it looks great.

Air France - it needs a new livery or at least a wrapping of the tail livery around the rear like Qantas' red c/s.

Lufthansa - it sure could use a more attractive c/s.

American Airlines - the current one's been around too long.

Saudia - ugh! Bring back the really nice green c/s!

Hawaiian - the livery on their DC-10s is utterly terrible! All-metal makes it too awful and too AA-like. Why didn't they put on the other c/s with the white fuselage and the purple and pink curves on them? I sure hope they do so on ther 717s!

Air India - Why did they throw the new c/s away!?
Aerolineas Argentinas - Oh, jeez! Why'd they pick a blue Iberia lookalike with a tiny bird(?) logo on the tail!?

Some liveries that should NOT be changed much or at all! They are also ones I like:

ANA - Doesn't need changing.

Singapore - Like the cheatline.

Air Canada - It's fine.

Canadian(Proud Wings livery) - I really am going to miss this one!

Qantas - Love the nice red tail and rear!

BA (World colors and new Union Jack) - Ahhh...refreshing!

Air New Zealand - Glad they kept the Maori tail.

LanChile - Very unique and beautiful!

Transbrasil - Love those rainbow colors! What a true Brazilian airline should be like.

Finnair - Believe it or not, I like the new c/s better than the old one.

El Al (new livery) - Beautiful and sweeping!

Alitalia - Looks good as it is, especially on its Airbuses.
