I noticed, that the Aeroflot service into LAD which flies every second week has a quite long ground time at Luanda.

Schedule as follows:
...4... SVO LAD 1405 2135 SU 345 IL6
....5.. LAD SVO 2235|1200 SU 346 IL6

Do they operate charter flights in between or what does the SU Aircraft do at LAD for more than 24 hrs?

A few weeks ago I posted data from an old Interflug timetable here on A.net and I noticed that IF used to have pretty long ground times on a few of their flights as well, for example:

SXF dep. 20:40
KHI arr. 07:35 (+1)
KHI dep. 08:45 (+1)
HAN arr. 15:55 (+1)
HAN dep 10:00 (+2)
KHI arr. 13:45 (+2)
KHI dep. 14:45 (+2)
SXF arr. 21:40 (+2)

Ground time in HAN from 15:55 until 10:00 on the next day.

SXP dep. 18:30
SVO arr. 23:00
SVO dep. 00:01 (+1)
PEK arr. 12:05 (+1)
PEK dep. 05:30 (+2)
SVO arr. 10:00 (+2)
SVO dep. 11:00 (+2)
SXF arr. 11:20 (+2)

Ground time in PEK from 12:05 until 05:30 on the next day.

Where those flights also operated by IL6 aircrafts?

It has to be there for such a long time. Aeroflot's Moscow-Luanada service operates fortnightly (every other week), so the plane has to park for 24 hours for the crew can rest. The same crew who flies SVO-LAD flies LAD-SVO the next day.

Quoting Swissgabe (Thread starter):
service into LAD which flies every second week

I just thought of this: Maybe the same crew is flying the plane back to SVO since they only have service into LAD every second week? I can imagine that it is quite pricey for SU to let a complate IL6 crew stay in a hotel in Luanda for two weeks. I think that the crew must get a compulsory rest of ~24 hours before they can operate the return flight.

Yes, those were also IL6 flights.

You was two minutes faster than me.

I should have thought of that. Thanks a lot ...

Just btw: The lowest fare available seems to be an AP Fare (restricted) from SVO to LAD and return which is 1000 USD. What is traffic like on this sector, are there a lot of Russian oil companies in Angola?

Well, not full but well booked I would say. Not even the lowest class is closed.
