AF's tenth A318 was delivered a few days ago.
This aircraft, F-GUGJ, is the first aircraft to display the historic Air France logo, "the hippocamp or sea-horse" on the engines.
The usual "Groupe Air France" indication under the cockpit has been removed and replaced by "Air France-KLM".
The second aircraft to show these modifications will the 11th B773ER that will be delivered early December (F-GSQK).

Thanks FLYSSC. That's good to know. The picture you posted is real nice. I believe that another 5 (8 at the most) of those are still on order, waiting to be delivered. Does that mean Air France continues to get rid of the 737's? Back in June when I flew Air France, there were 13 B737-500's left in the fleet.
Keep us informed on what is going on at Air France.

Last september, Air France confirmed 3 options on the A318, so including thoses 3, 8 aircraft are to be delivered.
4 a/c (F-GUGL to F-GUGO) are to be delivered during the first 6 month of 2006.
AF still holds 7 options on the A318.
Only 12 B735 are stil in service with AF. They should be all retired by the end of 2006/early 2007.

Did anyone else notice the old Groupe Air France logo itself on the outboard side of the engine?

Ahhh, I love that... With something retro, it's even greater! Good move AF! A first step towards better looking airplanes...
The "old style" sea-horse logo will be applied on the engines on ALL the fleet, including the A340 & A380, except maybe on the B735 and B743 as they will be phased out very soon.
