Civil A/C Intercepted By Fighters:39 Times In '05

A short translation here below:

Nov. the 3rd an Italian F-16 scrambled from Trapani AB (Sicily) to intercept and check a civil aircraft that had some irregularities with the ATC authorities.
It was a DC-10 owned by Ugandans DAS Air Cargo from Bengasi to Amsterdam. It has been recognized and escorted as far as the Italian borders with Austria.
This scramble was the 39th from the beginning of the year related to identifications of irregular civil A/C … this means an average of around 4 scramble per month…that’s impressive wideeyed !!!

Anyone knows similar statistics related to his country?
