Is Thomson-Fly Still Coming To Australia?

Hi Guys,

I have read that Thomson-Fly are coming to Australia, their website say they are but there is nothing in the schedules, it was in the paper some months ago their first flights are coming in November, they were using a 767 from memory with about 2 or 3 stops and flying from Gatwick, are they just special charters with limited dates or is it a summer service. I was just wondering what happening with them ?????

Travel is from Perth or Sydney to London Gatwick on selected dates between November 2005 - February 2006.

Departures from Perth

Perth 0915 (9.00am) Saturday
London Gatwick 0020 (12.50am) Sunday

Total travelling time approx 21 hours.

London Gatwick 1300 (1.00pm) Thursday
Perth 1820 (6.20pm) Friday

Total travelling time approx 19.5 hours.

Departures from Sydney

Sydney 2010 (8.10pm) Wednesday
London Gatwick 1055 (10.55am) Thursday

Total travelling time approx 24 hours.

London Gatwick 1740 (5.40pm) Monday
Sydney 0555 (5.55am) Wednesday

Total travelling time approx 23 hours.

Cabin Features

Seat pitch is 30 inches. During the flight you will have a choice of 2 meals, applicable to the time of day. General view in-flight entertainment is provided with headsets sold at a cost of approximately $7 each way. Baggage allowances for economy class are 20 kilograms.

Stopovers

Stopovers are not permitted on any flights. You will have a stop in Singapore and Abu Dhabi in each direction, but this is for refuelling only. You are required to leave the airplane.

Thanks for that info I must not have looked hard enough, they are going to be very long flights, one stop is bad enough on a 744 but 2 stopovers especially when you are going home and the reality sets in that its back to work soon.

-And 7 bucks for headphones each-way, they must be "Gold Plated" at the price !!!!!!!!

I believe it was meant that you cannot stopover in either Singapore or Abu Dhabi and that you have to fly through to the end destination.

For the most part, I beleive most airlines require you to leave the aircraft during refueling stops. Besides, who wouldn't take the opportunity to get out into the terminal and stretch the legs and maybe top up the gold plating for those headsets in Abu Dhabi???

You have to leave the aircraft in SIN and AUH while it is cleaned and refuelled. You are not allowed to remain on board.
