The first US Airways 767 (N656US) in new livery has been painted. The paint is currently drying and should be rolling out in the next day or two. Hopefully more photos will come out shortly. It looks sharp!!!!

Oh, cool, that was unexpected, I thought they were painting the first couple of 767s in the Star livery. Look forward to seeing it.

Quoting Daleaholic (Reply 2): Wonder when the 333's will get it, they would look nice!
They're aiming for all the widebodies to be done by the end of next year; I'd expect most of them done this winter, some in the new US livery, a few in the Star livery. For the complete fleet, they're aiming for the end of 2006 for the HP fleet, the end of 2007 for the US fleet, but I think the date for the US fleet will slip a little. The Express fleet will take a bit longer as well.

When they are painting the outside are they doing anything with the interiors of these aircrafts?

Until the 350s start showing up. We still have a ways to go until then.

Actually 656US is the newest 767 in the US Fleet and was expected to be repainted in Star Livery so this is a real nice surprise. As there are 7 Mainline US aircraft is Star colors (3 757 and 4 319) and only the one 320 in the new US colors I say let the Star Livery wait a little longer, more US new colors please ! And now some of our friends across the pond can see the new livery in person ! Heads up AMS, MUC, MAD !

I'll have to keep my eye out for her. I usually a good number of 767s at PHL waiting for the European push. I guess I won't be waiting long. It looks great...right up there with the CRJs.
So that makes one A320, one 767 and several dozen CRJs so far in the new paint. Are there any more that are in line to be repainted?

America West has a few A320s that will be delivered the next few months sporting the (ugly) new livery.
I miss the best paint scheme on earth, followed by the second best (United's Battle Gray).

The livery is gonna be so white??? I loved some much the US livery, since I love black and it´s a very unusual color for airline liveries.
I guess I´m a fan of the old livery here, quite a dissapointment here.

While black (or technically very dark blue) looks amazing when it is freshly painted, it fades quickly and when it starts to peel off a bit, it looks absolutely horrible. While I think the old US livery was a nice break up from the land of white, white doesn't fade and continues to look somewhat good (unless you are like AF and don't clean your planes) until the plane needs repainting.
Overall I can't wait to see one of the new livery planes in person. I love how they did a pretty good job of blending the two liveries together to form a new combination. At least it isn't a white plane with a single cheat line and small tail logo like the liveries of the 60s and 70s.
If you have never designed an airplane part before, let the real designers do the work!

That looks amazing guys.. It is kinda hard to think of US Airways like this. Even though it is white, as are so many paint schemes around, it has some nice subtities, that the wavy thing going on..> I like this scheme and the 767 looks in charge with it..
