I've just catched a strange AC flight with acarsd (www.acarsd.org) roughly
over VCE. Flight number is AC7028. It is operated with 762ER. Strange enough,
the same flight has been operated with 320 and CRJ before  Confused (please use the
search feature at www.acarsd.org if you want the details).

Has anyone heard about it before?

AC7028 is an ACJetz charter. I guess they needed a larger aircraft (767) for this particular flight.

ACA7028 is a ferry flt no. Interestingly, I've just posted about ACA7027 which was C-GDSU routing MSP to Leipzig today.

What rego is ACARS showing for 7028, ENCRJ ?

The same, C-GDSU. Strangely, I catched it from my hometown, near VCE, which is
definitely not on the MSP-Leipzig route!

Wonder why it's showing as 7028 then? My info was from the flight plan which states ACA7027 KMSP-EDDP. Strange. Maybe it's been re-routed and it's going to Venice instead? Perhaps for cargo conversion ?? ?? ??

Maybe. But I do not think Air Canada is retiring it. It is still on their homepage

Why are you proposing ACA7028 is a charter, Mikephotos?

It's going to Venice to pick up new upholstery for the seats.

I don't. I thought it would be funny. I am very curious as well. What's in Leipzig anyway? Military base...? A branch of Lufthansa Technik...?

This is definitely an AC JETZ charter. 7000 series flights are used for either JETZ or ferry flights. Here's the routing on fin 615 (767-200ER), with it's conventional 24J/183Y config:

AC7027 YYZ-MSP-LEJ 13 Nov (Ferried between YYZ/MSP)
AC7028 LEJ-CIA 14 Nov
AC7027 CIA-MXP 16Nov
AC7067 MXP-HAM 16Nov
AC7027 HAM-MAN 17Nov

It's a private sports/entertainment charter.

From my own research, Im guessing this would be for the WWE RAW tour in Europe right now, which has the following live show dates which match closely with that flight schedule...

Nov. 15 Leipzig, Germany,
Nov. 15 Rome, Italy
Nov. 16 Hamburg, Germany
Nov. 16 Milan, Italy
Nov. 17 Manchester, England

Am I right?
