World is continuing to move towards aquiring/converting to freighter aircraft, thus when the AMC flights do slow down, a large portion of the fleet remains in the air doing cargo.
I think you'll see a move towards total cargo before long.

That's why they bought North American. The World MD-11s are valuable as freighyters and eventually will all be converted, especially once the military flying slows down. It lets them get rid of the very expensive flight attendants at World and NAA will be the passenger charter arm of this enterprise. As for the pilots, one group will be played off against the other - so what else is new? All IMHO.
