BA: No Interest In The A380; For Now!

From an article in the Telegraph, the following from Willie Walsh:

Mr Walsh also ruled out any interest in the foreseeable future in the Airbus A380 superjumbo. "We have no plans to introduce the A380 aircraft," he said. "I’m pleased we haven’t got one ordered. It’s a big aircraft and there’s a big question mark beside it." He expressed more interest in the soon-to-be launched Boeing 747 advanced aircraft - a stretched version of the 747-400, which raises the number of seats from 416 to 450. BA currently has 57 747-400s.

Chris Avery, aviation analyst at JP Morgan, said: "Boeing’s enthusiasm to have a passenger customer for the 747 Advanced might result in very significant discounts for BA."

The 747 Adv' questionmark is certainly not smaller  duck 

Hey, you are watching a poker game, nothing else.

BA can wait for the A380 and Airbus has no need to give more discounts. And by waiting BA can get the option to buy A389s or A388s with advanced engines, if they want.
