Translating press release:
Arkia, an Israeli airline, has signed an SPA agreements with Qatar airways.
This is the first agreement any Israeli carrier has ever signed with a gulf country.
The agreements will allow Israeli passport holders to fly to most of Qatar Airways, combined with IZ flights.
Israeli passengers will fly TLV-AMM with IZ ATR-72, after 45 min they will continue with QR to DOH, and form there to 20 destinations in east Asia and Africa.
In addition, Qatar has changed its foreign policies, and Israeli passport holders will be able to transfer through Qatar airport without the need of a visa.
This "procedure" is supposed to be updated in all the ticketing systems.
end of translation.
WOW, I didn't know it would happen so soon. Hopefully, soon we will be able to visit Doha, and not only connect there.

Qatar Airways denied signing a deal with Arkia: http://news.airwise.com/story/view/1132148492.html
However, this statement is ambiguous as it also says that their Jordanian GSA may have been working on that...It also does not comment on lifting the visa requirement for transit through Doha.
Whatever...
You just broke my dream in pieces. For a fraction of a second, I thought piece in the Middle East finally came and everybody are free to travel just like in EU.

Quoting Semsem (Reply 16): It is being done through the "back door" through a Jordanian Agent. Nothing wrong with that.
As you say, a "back door" deal so that QR and Qatar in general don't lose face in the Arab world. Still, I'm glad they're willing to go this far! It's a positive step in any case.
