I am doing a paper on the 777 and I was wondering how many carriers operate the 777. Any info would be great.

@ODwyerPW:

The Boeing Order and Delivery pages don't show the airlines, who are taking their 777s on lease from ILFC, GECAS and SALE.
So there are some Airlines missing.

Don't forget to add AC too on the list of B777 operator. They will get theirs in early 2007.

Those operators that no longer have 777s, why did they get rid of them?

This is a fairly tedious question actually, you'll have to do a bit of research.

Some carriers like JAL and BA operate both.

Airlines like EK that operate the -200LR or -300ER have to have GE90s on those models but have the Trent 800 on the -200ERs.

Another thing to put on your list - KE operates 773s with the mighty PW4098, which IIRC has got the highest thrust to weight ratio of any 777, including the -200LR and -300ER...just can't go very far  Wink

Are you certain of that?
NH & JL have 773s that are certified at a far less max gross weight with PW4090 engines. This has to do with landing fees NH & JL pay at Japanese airports. Less weight, less fees.

An easier question to ask is who does not operate the 777

I wouldn't stake my life on it, but that is what I remember from the discussions here on this forum.
