CO To Put ERJ's On EWR-MSY (and Other Info)

It looks like this will happen in January...

Two daily ERJ flights on the EWR-MSY run. Right now it's running with one daily 735. It's certainly not the longest RJ flight out there, but at over three hours southbound, it's a long one. The first flight down to MSY looks like it will have a gate to gate time of 3h43m.

Also, NW will drop one of the DTW-MSY flights as well as one MSP-MSY flight. They'll be down to 5 dailies, including a couple of 320's to MEM. Hopefully the reductions are not permanent, but you never know.

On the positive side, CO will be adding a daily ERJ flight to CLE, and JetBlue is adding another JFK flight with a 320 on 1/31.

UA's 744 Y-class seat is more comfortable than DL's new 77L Y-class seat.

I've been hearing Delta Connection/RP may start a daily FLL-MSY flight, because it doesn't look like WN is going to return to the route any time soon. The FLL-MSY flights are now two daily FLL-HOU flights.

That sounds like a good RJ route. 50 seats are a lot easier to fill than 137 with the way things are right now. I think WN will re-enter that market eventually, but you're right, not anytime soon.

Yeah, I'm not holding my breath. I'm pretty confident about the DL FLL-MSY rumours. I wouldn't be surprised to see it start by February.

AA hopes to have the third daily MIA-MSY back up by April, and AA has done a pretty decent job of ramping MSY service back up. MSY-LGA also will likely return in the spring.

Mark, thanks for the insights. I appreciate it.

AA certainly is doing a great job down here. I can't say the same for some other airlines, but they are.
