I can respect that, what about a hint though?

From EWR or IAH?

Europe, Asia, or S. America? Or maybe even Africa?

Anything?

I would bet a substantial amount that the new route is EWR-DME. It has been rumored for a long time, and CO is soliciting Russian-language F/A's on their website.

However, it could also be something completely different. It wouldn't be the first time CO did something totally unexpected.

well I believe DME is having some problems and have heard it is pushed back until 2007............but the other two that I have heard on the hit list is ATH/MUC...and it is only feasible with a 762/4/777...........so..............

Talking range-wise, doable from both EWR and IAH with a 767, -200 or -400 (though IAH-ATH is on the outer edge of 767-400 range, but most likely the flight would be from EWR)

Quoting CXA330300 (Reply 13):
LOS was rumoured......

Well, that was announced, but I though CO gave up because they refused to pay the bribes the corrupt officials wanted.

So do you know for sure, and just stringing us along, or do you not know, based on listing 3 possibilities?  liar   spin

Hooray, Tripple 7 service between Dallas and Houston!!!!

Okay, I'll stop wishing now.

I am seriously pulling for Domodedovo, because I've got a friend that lives there and needs a ticket home... And Conti's 762/764 offering is far nicer than Delta's 763. And now he's a OnePass member, so.... come on, Conti, go to Moscow!

CAL,

Are you referring to OGG-LAX(-IAH) with a 75B/(738) starting Feb 16th (CO136)?

Give us a hint CALMSP. Looks like I'll have to plan another inaugural flight. Did EWR-DEL-EWR earlier this month. Think that makes 6 that I've done.

Wow--has that been announced? I sure see CO136/137 on the schedules LAX-OGG with a 757-200.

So Continental is extending Hawaii ops.

Drerx7,

Flight 136/137 seem to be fairly new, though there are numerous bookings on them so ?? Most of us in the office that work the Pacific flights didn't see this until tonight. Seems the OGG-IAH will run through LAX post Feb.? freeing up a 764, from what we see.

CO got rid of the non-stop IAH-OGG 764 starting in mid-February and is now sending everyone through LAX on a 75B. It's wreaking havoc with our reservations for our trip to Maui in February (the flight now arrives 5 hours later than the nonstop), and I'm on hold with reservations to sort things out.

any news on the Accra or Lagos route?

Next destinations, Suarabaya, beirut, paris, Accra
25 WDBRR : It's probably something like EWR-FLL or EWR-MCO since B6 now flies the route like 4 or 5x daily.
26 Drerx7 : Ohh--well that sucks, all so they can take another widebody from IAH to send across the pond from EWR. Ahh well...
27 CALMSP : okay...........now it has been said...........yeah we are dropping our IAH-OGG service and replacing it with a 757 service LAX-OGG..........now we are
28 Mbm3 : I will still love to see additional 757 service to Hawaii, including KOA and LIH, from the West Coast. Back to topic, I cant wait to see what gets add
29 Post contains images BigGSFO : So my question is, why start a thread about a new route and then say "oh I can't say anything?" Why not just wait until it is announced?
30 CALMSP : I didn't say we were positively announcing a new route, I was stating that an announcement of a change was happening with the intent of the possiblity
31 TrijetFan1 : CLE-AMS, probably adding a new destination like the ones of Berlin...Stuggart PLEASE
32 Diesel33 : What?! You're kidding me, right? For all we know, it could just be an upgrade to something else, it doesn't necessarily have to be another new route.
33 Mbm3 : As much as I would absolutely love this, I just dont see it happening with a 764. In fact, I could see CLE-HNL before I could see CLE-AMS with a wide
34 CALMSP : what would we upgrade??? We continually strive to fly to new international destinations, and we are starting to reach into eastern europe, however the
35 Mbm3 : IMHO, PRG should be top of the list to help fill out the gap in eastern europe, followed by MUC and then ATH.
36 Post contains images Drerx7 : Damn you CALMSP! This change is being annouced today (saturday)?
37 CALMSP : i'm not sure of a big announcement, but it is going to be available to book today. I'm not sure how A340Spotter found out!! I just think its a somewha
38 Diesel33 : Found out what?! What is it?
39 7LBAC111 : Seems to me to be the IAH-OGG service being changed to 1-stop via LAX, freeing up a 764 for a new destination.
40 Joeman : It's probably safe to assume that CLE is not involved
41 Ikramerica : Just adjusting them downward after the busiest season is over... If they do it with red-eyes, I could care less. Last thing I want as an LA resident
42 STT757 : CO's 757-300s offer more seats than their 767-200s and just about the same amount as their 767-400s albeit with a lower CASM.
43 CALMSP : no...........I think the IAH-OGG portion is over........maybe until we receive more widebodies........but we can utilize the widebody from this route
44 STT757 : I like the LAX-OGG flight, how about in addition to that flight IAH-OGG-KOA-IAH with a 757-200? 3,800 miles.
45 CALMSP : yeah I was very surprised we did not move in that direction, with the way we have out of EWR.
46 GoCOgo : Indeed, or perhaps service to several Hawaiian destinations from IAH IAH-KOA 3332 nm IAH-LIH 3450 nm IAH-OGG 3325 nm For comparison: EWR-TXL 3458 nm
47 Ikramerica : if they do it this way, i'll fly it (on the LAX portion): IAH 7:45AM -- LAX 9:30AM (already flight 495, roughly) LAX 11AM -- OGG 2:30PM OGG 3:30PM --
48 A340Spotter : " I'm not sure how A340Spotter found out!! " Shares...was available to book...and actually was showing up as a 738 IAH-OGG which caught my attention!
49 STT757 : What I was thinking was they keep the LAX-OGG flight, in additon to that they also launch a nonstop flight from IAH to OGG with a 757-200 the return
50 RamerinianAir : So what friggin route is getting upgraded to the 764. I figure that this is a route upgrade cause the iah-ogg route may come back in the summer. SR
51 Dutchjet : This surprise LAX-OGG route was quietly added to the timetable, lets just say that CO is doing a bit of experimenting with the route and ops at LAX...
52 Mbm3 : So now it is Sunday - any update or hints?
53 Klwright69 : Well, a new U.S. carrier needs to serve Russia. DL has had Russia in their pocket for too long. Continental is the one to do it, out of EWR. They need
54 ARGinLON : This is not big news. I was checking some flights on continental.com and I noticed the MAD-EWR for July shows a 764 in Pacific configuration (20/235).
55 CALMSP : we may have downgraded MAD due to the new BCN flight....now we can re-direct some of those pax to the non-stop flight. I still would like to see a sec
56 GLOBALDUDE : I heard that CAL wanted two 757 a day to MAD, and had planned to do it as BCN was being added, however the power that be didn't know MAD had slots and
57 CALMSP : if we did 2x EWR-MAD on the 757 we would lose a great amount of J traffic. 16 seats to be exact, and we would also lose out on our cargo revenue.
58 Dutchjet : At one point, CO was looking at operating EWR-MAD with one 767 and one 757 during the busy summer months - instead of one daily 777 flight - to increa
59 Ikramerica : 1 x 764 20J is even fewer than the 772. CO need to standardize the 764s at this point, as they use if they use the 20J on more non-pacific routes.
60 CALMSP : well, our BF cabin to MAD is strong year round......and typically the IAH-OGG route was served with teh 764 configuration.
61 ARGinLON : I don't think BCN is a strong feeder for MAD. I believe the BCN flight will be mostly sold in the U.S (90% approx?). The BCN market is too small to j
62 Drerx7 : So did we discover what was going on here?
