Looking at the schedules for the press conferences at the DXB airshow, AF is holding a press conference today at 4.30PM. Other airlines that are scheduled are EK on monday and QR on tuesday. Various sources have talked about QR and EK making huge order announcments at the airshow. Since AF is holding a press conference aswell could we expect also an order from them?

might be the long waited AF-KL regional order... they said they will only make a decision together when it goes about regional planes... and the fact that in 2010 , the KL F-100's reachs the 22 years (and with 3 a 4 flights a day) they might be up for replacing...

Lots of A320 family aircraft and a follow on for 773ERs?
787s of A350s?
More 380s or some 748s?
748F or more 777F?
Lots of options.
Of all the things to worry about... the Wookie has no pants.

AFKL already placed an order for 6 Emb.190LR for its subsidiary Regional Airlines. They will replace the F100/F70 ...but those F100/F70 were supposed to be transferred to KLM !

true, but dont forget the regional fleet of both AF-KL reaches well about the 100 planes... 6 planes is nothing.... and Although KL is expanding its regional fleet (actually its whole fleet) with 2 pelitta's and the AF F-70/100's its also already phasing out other planes..
the F-50 fleet is slowly downsizing, but also the first F-100 (wich came from tam earlier this year) already left the fleet... plus the fact that KL needs the extra capicity soon, won't say they wont will replace them soon..

Do they need A350 in complement of their A330?
They have always try to buy Airbus and Boeing, so if you look their fleet for the future:
A320 (and no ore B737 soon)
A380 (and no more B747 exept freighters)
B777 (and no more A340)
so AF/KLM may complete their A330 fleet with A350 (looks in line with their strategy, they quite never resell planes, they use them up to the end, that's may be why or because they are world n°2 aircraft maintenance center).
They can also choose B787, but in that case, the order list is already so long, and without yet US airlines, they need to take decision really soon, if not no slots will be available.
Concerning regional, they are interest by Embraer, but will see.

Air France Industries is one of the most important Maintenance supplier in the world.

I think AF would choose the A350 against the B787 mostly because of the commonality with the A332.
But AF's Managers declared recently that the fleet renewal plan was secured for the next 5 years

Then maybe it is a large order for EMB175/195 jets for regional service?
Guess we'll know in a few hours.

It will be very surprising to hear about an AF order at the show , as here in France , never heard about an Imminent AF order.
No words about 787 , A350 , 748 or more A380s.Strange.......
If they announce something , the secret has been well kept !!!!!!!!!
Manni
Yes they have a strong department of maintenance at CDG , Le Bourget and Toulouse.
Also a strong position in catering.

So you are right, they secure for five years, but the order list is full for more than 5 years.

Of all the things to worry about... the Wookie has no pants.
Still no news on the Web (I will call my brother in AF tomorow in case of), it's too late for Dubay, they are all at the Boeing party this evening, even Airbus, to celebrated the "more or less definitive" victory of "ETOPS 120 double big engines B777 strategy" again the "A340 four engines ones".
