Thai Airways In Izmir Turkey. Why?

While searching the pictures came across Thai Airways Jumbo Jet in Izmir? Didn't make sense to me. Any suggestions ?

Medical diversion, technical problems, government charter, sports or other charter are onlx a few of dozens of reasons why it was there. Would be nice to know.

The plane was in Izmir for the 23rd Universiade, (World University Summer Games) one of the biggest sports organizations in the world.
