Granted in the post-Katrina world, more of the flights are operated by RJ's, but i'm not complaining. And, since they will be flying to six different cities nonstop, UA wil be leading airline in MSY in that category. Hopefully we'll see the SFO nonstop resume in the not too distant future, but it is good to see the resumption of LAX service, as well as more flights to IAD and DEN, and new service to SAT and OKC.

Actually, only the new destinations are RJs. The E70s into ORD are small mainline jets and feature Explus service. The other hub flying is mainline, which is an upgrade as DEN service was Ted for a long time.
I agree, particularly with the reintroduction of the LAX non-stop. Hopefully it will get back to 3x soon. Even with SFO still not running (it was their weakest route to MSY pre-Katrina) they have actually netted 1 extra destination as compares to pre-Katrina

This looks like a smart move by UA...they're trying to capitalize on other airlines' hesitance to re-enter the market (didn't WN announce large schedule cutbacks into MSY?). Great to see some good decisions coming from the ivory palace!

Quoting UA744Flagship (Reply 4): Heard nothing about the desire to add MSYSFO back unfortunately.
Well, we can't have it all come back so soon I guess. I'm sure it'll be back sooner or later.

Quoting UA744Flagship (Reply 4): FYI DENMSY may very well go back to Ted service late winter/early spring.
That is too bad

They pulled all service at one point, but have now announced so much service is coming back that they will again lead MSY for frequency. They will still be about 50 flights short of pre-Katrina levels.
