Do Any Of You Work(ed) For British Midland?

I start work at British Midland Commuter next week as cabin crew and would like to know how i can claim my free flights. I know it is on a standby basis, do i just turn up. Also is it just on BM that i can travel or do i get free/cheaper flights on other carriers? Thanks
