Will A380 Ever Come To EWR Or PHL

At the time of all the wake turbulence issues that A380 is experiencing, will they be able to fly in into EWR or PHL?

Those 2 airports are extremely busy and I wonder would to be feasible for an airline to fly their A380 into EWR and pay the extra penalty for the delays that are caused by the wake turbulence.

Any thoughts?

PHL taxiways are not set up for the wingspan of the A380. But PHL is an alternate airport in case of an emergency. So one may speculate they may do a test flight, also UPS is a major cargo player at PHL and on the order list for an A380.
But as for regular service, it's very doubtful for PHL. EWR is probably in the same situation.

Newark airport is a hub for FedEx, FedEx has ordered the A380 so it's quite likely to see the plane.

The only way we'd see A380 in PHL is if UPS will fly them here.

I agree. As for scheduled passenger service with A380 at EWR, probably never going to happen.

From what I understand UPS will not be getting the A380. I have talked to a few of their pilots and they say the orders will be sold off to the highest bidder when the price it up. UPS will be sticking with Boeing it would seem.

Never say never...
Why not ? Some European and Asian carriers might be interested if EWR will be ready.

Exceptions confirm the rule.

Just seems to me that JFK usually gets the glory while EWR is just the "workhorse" airport.

Yes, I know, UA introduced the 777 on EWR-LHR instead of JFK-LHR, VS started their NYC ops at EWR, etc. etc.

But, my gut tells me if somebody is going to fly pax in an A380 to NYC, it's going to be to JFK, not EWR.

Passenger version yes, however FedEx has their Northeast hub at EWR so if they are going to fly it through the area it would be through EWR.

I'd say CO's hub at EWR is far more glorious than DL or AA at JFK. Architecturally, I think AA has just stolen the show, though.

Could you please remind me of the source of this? I can't find anything from any reputable source (e.g. FAA, EAA or Airbus).
Thank you!

I wonder if any management having such a plan would talk to the pilots about it?
