Quoting 2travel2know (Reply 1): If they can't handle the amount of baggage the Jamaicans carry with them back to the island, NK service to Jamaica (specially KIN) will end up like Jet Blue JFK-SDQ-JFK service.
Air Jamaica and US Airways do just fine with A320 family aircraft on FLL-KIN/MBJ, while AA uses 738s on all three daily MIA-KIN flights. Fort Lauderdale-Kingston is an important business market and Fort Lauderdale-Montego Bay has more American tourists than Jamaican residents. The aircraft size isn't going to hurt them here.

Loads are really high for Jamaica.... don't know how yield is though...As far as baggage, NK does not accept any bags over 70 lbs and no excess baggage to Jamaica, even if pax willing to pay for it. As far as overall, NK is privately held, so no one but mgmt probably knows how we are really doing, but haven't seen any desperate measures, so I guess it's a good sign.
next flights ACY-TPA-ACY on NK, ACY-ORD-DEN-IAH-ACY on UA
