What happened in Frankfurt / FRA on the evening of the 24th? I am noticing a lot of the Lufthansa flights were delayed several hours and finally taking off around 2am. Specifically the departures to South American and Southern Africa. Even some of the European late evening departures were leaving late.

Weather? ATC issues?

I understand it started snowing quite heavily, my mother told it was some 10 cm of snow falling in the area where my parents live (which is a bit away from Frankfurt but still close enough to judge).

Time waits for nobody

I guess it's weather, there is are storm right now over The Netherlands and Germany. AMS is having lots of delays, too.

Destruction leads to a very rough road but it also breeds creation

It started snowing at around 8.30PM last night. Although we only got 5 cm of snow it affected the traffic on the roads and in the air quite a lot.
