Expedia doesn't seem to do a very good job when it comes to searching for flights within India (domestic). Is there a site where I can go to for this, or do I have to look up each airline's site to figure it out?

To narrow things down, my travels this winter involve routing through BLR, MAA and TRV. My entry and exit point from India is MAA, and I have to visit my old man at BLR, do an overnight to TRV, and also visit SIN! What was to be a nice relaxing time in the winter sun eating Amruud and Chikus has gone out of the window.
MEL, many thanks for your kind offer too. Alas, I will have to decide over this weekend, so I may just end up going through an Indian travel agent. Too bad I am not flying thru BOM, perhaps we could have had a hi-protein meet!

I am based at TRV currently , will be nice to meet up if your schedule permits. Let me know.
Ok based on your itinerary you have given these are the alternatives.
MAA BLR - IC- Only one morning morning at 07 AM (A320)
9W - 6 departures from early in the mrng to late night (737s and
ATR 72s)
Sahara (S2) - 2 Deaprtures at 6 AM and 1045 AM (both 737s)
Kingfisher (IT) - 1015 and 2200 (320s)
Deccan (DN) - 6 flights from 8 Am to 9 PM (all ATRS usually 42s
and may be 72s as well)
BLR TRV - One of the most underserved routes in India (considering the
traffic). Only one flight which is IC who operate a one stop
service via Cochin (the flight operates BLR COK TRV BLR). The 1230
Dep doesnt help either as it gets you to TRV only at 1440. Forget
about overnight train connections - the train reaches TRV at 3 PM,
so most people end up getting the overnight coaches which
leave around 5 PM and takes 14 hours !
TRV MAA - Again not much choice, Jet used to operate the route but stopped a few years back. IC has a daily A320 dep at 1600 (ex Fri where it leaves at 1430). Deccan has just announced their services on the route but the start date is 01 February 2006 . Dep timings given is noon ex trv.
Dont know from where you are hopping on to SIN, but Silk Air has departures 4 days a week from TRV to SIN (2250 Dep and a 0540 AM arr the next day at SIN).
Also if it is of any help here is a consolidated list of all airline links operating on Indian domestic routes.

Thank you SO much for the information, it's most helpful! I will know my final itinerary in a few days, and would be nice to meet in TRV if time (and my hosts!) permits. It's a mini business trip to a Technology Park, and I'm not sure where I will be staying.
It looks like I might fly in from BLR, overnight it and fly out to SIN the next day. Once I know for sure, I can send an A.net message to you.
