Hi all,

I'd like to hear from you on this one, because the information I found on the net is somewhat contradictory to what I've found on this forum.

I am trying to know which aircraft brought the Beatles to America in 1964. I looked up this forum, and found that it's Clipper Defiance (N704PA), which is a 707-331.

Searching the net, I've found many reference stating that Pan Am's flight 101 was on Clipper Yankee (N763PA), which is a 707-321B

Do any of you know which one is true?

Thanks

Well, it's not perfect - they seem to think it was a DC-8...but they do say "Clipper Defiance".

I have seen the video of the Beatles deplaning and noticed the name "Defiance" before - thinking how appropriate the name is, considering what the message of their music became. Quite an irony, huh?

Try this link: http://groups.msn.com/WorldofRockand...oll/thebeatlesarriveinamerica.msnw

...and scroll all the way to the bottom. There's a number on the fuselage, just above one of the Beatles' head, but I can't quite make it out...

Good luck...

Click on "watch the video of their arrival".

You can see "Defiance" on the fuselage quite clearly.

Should have researched it a little more clearly. Happy flying!!

It's now clear : Clipper Defiance, a 707-331. I want to do a painting of this particular aircraft, so I needed to know the exact version (the engines are not the same, but I think the fuselage is the same length on both aircraft)

Anyway, thank you, mystery solved!
