I know most of you see me as an Airbus hater and a Boeing lover from the Boeing and Airbus wars, but I really like Airbus. I was looking at the Airbus website, I think the A3XX-50R looks cool, it's not as long as a 747, but it's neat looking, don't you think? Anyway, I hope you share my excitment on the A3XX! I also look forward to any new Boeing aircraft that Boeing may be working on.

Best regards,

Hi Boeing747-400,

if you like the A3XX you should also give Airbus credit for what it is doing, why are you engaged in anti-Airbus fights?

Nice to hear that you changed your mind a bit, though!

The more you know...the more you like it!

BTW, the 744 is my favourite plane flying.

It's not that I don't like Airbus because of my Anti-Airbus war thing. I just overreacted about some people saying some unnecessary things about Boeing, don't you agree? The 744 is also my favorite plane!

Kind regards,

Not to offend anyone, but I think the A350 is the ugliest coomercial aircraft I've ever seen. It is so unproportional looking it isn't funny. It doesn't have that balanced, sleek looking appearance.

It will probably be underpowered, like the rest of the Airbus products.

Excited!!! Hardly - its just another incredibly ugly airliner  - nothing more than an appliance designed to do a job. Where is the grace and style of the fifties and sixties?

Dustin (DG_pilot) has expressed my sentiments exactly!

Please define 'the rest of the airbus products' which are underpowered. I'm really sick of all this 'Airbusses are underpowered' crap! If they really were so underpowered as some claim, NO ONE WOULD BUY THEM AND KEEP BUYING THEM!
Anyway, I don't want to start another A vs B war, I wish both manufacturers the best of luck, they have both built some great planes.
As for the A3XX: really looking forward to seeing it fly!!

Well:Juul just ignor them, they just WANT to start another stupid Airbus VS Boeing.

be more specific wjhen u mean under powered leon.
Whats better, a plane that is economical and underpowered and a plane that it over powered and not economical......id go for the more economical one.

airbus speciallises on extremely economical planes.
In a recent boeina advert it said "Range and speed" are what people want.
on the airbus advert at the same time said "saftey and comfort" are our top priorities....

i think the airbus advert seemed more sensible.....saftey..

Uugh, nice balanced comments from Boeng 747-400 at the top, and lo and behold, someone comes along sooner or later and ruins it. Come on down, Leon! Airbus are underpowered? You're a LAWYER, for god's sake. What would you know? Well, I'm a pilot (50% of the time) and I'm telling you that you don't know the first thing of which you speak. I happen to think lawyers are underpowered, dickless freaks that should be thrown into the ocean. Any thoughts?

I too can't wait to see the A350. I don't think it's out-of-proportion though. See you all (except the ridiculous Leon) in Toulouse in 2004/5 for the first flight!

If you want to have an idea of how big the A350 will look, think about the Antonov 124. I know both planes have different positioning of the wings, but the volume of both planes is about the same. Anyway, I can't find any other plane that looks more like the future A350.
I find that the Ant 124 doesn't look that big at all, unless you see it parked next to a B747 or a DC-10.
(I think that's because there is nothing slim at it.)
I think we might have the same effect with the A350.

Sabenapilot, I think you're right, the A350 won't look very big until you see it next to something. I often think the 777 looks the same size as a 737 until it taxies past one.

If someone complains about the A3XXs looks he or she has obviously not seen a lot about this new Superbus. Yesterday the news were full of it, here in Germany it was the no.1 theme on every channel.
With animated modelflights and so on.

I think the A350 will look very elegant, with a better proportioned tail as the B777 for example.
But I don´t think it can touch the unique silhouette of the B747-400. I only hope they don´t bring the cockpit down more on the A3XX. That would spoil it.

As a designer I must says the A3XX is absolutely not out of proportion, its very well balanced for such a huge transport. If there is an aircraft that is out of proportion then its the B777-300.
