I heard that CM is planning to use the E190 earlier than planed because they are short on equipment; the fist flight could be today or during this week to ADZ.

They actually need to fly it 100 hours before they could use it for any passenger flight.
If they already did use it 100 hours maybe they may be flying it to several destinations now.
The official scheduled flight of that E190 is Dec 15th.

Apparently it was used to transport your president on the official visit to Cuba yesterday.

and most likely was cheaper to use CM brandnew E190 than the presidential jet...

A gulfstream G II, It cost more to repair than the market value of the plane.

CM767, do you work for Copa?

Regards,

Felipe

Hola Felipe,

No I do not work for Copa, but I would not mind doing so!!  Smile

Not sure when the plane will be back, I will try to find out, I imagine that they took the E190 because of the 60 or so Panamanians that were taken to Cuba for Eye surgery.

Definitely Panama has better ophtalmologist. Why go to Cuba?

I don't know about Panama's eye professionals and don't doubt they must be good, but Cuba definitely has top notch medicine professionals, maybe they just wanted to do some health tourism while the plane gets prepared, maybe they got a good deal... who knows?

Actually, Barraquer hospital in Bogota is world reknowned for ophtalmology. And it's closer than Cuba. Still wondering.

but Cuba definitely has top notch medicine professionals,

Compared with Bogotá's Barraquer Clinic? Or Dr. Ernesto Calvo in PTY? Or Miami's Bascom Palmer? These ARE top notch.
Cubans... I doubt it. But this is not the place to discuss that.

The places you said are top notch, but Cubans are real good as well regarding medical sciences, still, as you said, this is not the place to discuss that.

The Cuban government has offer to do eye-surgery for 2,000 panamanians, those 60 or so were the 1st group of those to fly there.
