I need to go to Tennent, New Jersey, in Monmouth County, and I am wondering whether it makes more sense to fly into EWR or PHL? Actually, I will be working in Tennent, but probably sleeping in Freehold. So far, EWR seems to be a smarter choice because I can get there non-stop from MEX, but I would not mind flying to PHL with a stop if it is closer to Monmouth County, especially because delays are EWR can be quite bad.

Wow somebody knows Tennent, I live in Manalapan and Tennent is part of Manalapan. Actually Tennent is only one street with their own Post Office for what ever reason, my old friend from middle/high schools father was the Old minister at Tennent Church.
The closest airport is Newark, depending on traffic it's about a 40 minute drive. PHL is about 1.5 hour drive during normal working hours, although I've driven from Manalapan to PHL in 70 Minutes at 5AM.
Might I ask what brings you to Manalapan? A word of advice, no one except locals who have lived here longer than 20 years (like myself) and the Postal Workers knows that Tennent is actually a Town. It's a town made up of one street with about 20 homes, in reality it's Manalapan.
Kinda sounds like the Martinsville section of Bridgewater, NJ. The people there have their own "town" but no mayor, or school system. They are actually residents of Bridgewater with their own post office. Granted, it is larger than just 1 block, but same sort of idea. Anywhere else in the country (besides NJ) have weird things like this?

I had wanted to join airliners.net for a while, and when I saw this topic, I couldn't help myself.
Yes, EWR is much closer than Philly for that area of New Jersey. If you were more south, like in Ocean County, then Philly may have been a better option.
As for Tennent, I always knew it was a town from the exit 29 sign off Route 18, but never was sure where it was. Some of the small section of Middletown also have post offices. I think it's a Jersey thing. A weird NJ thing.

Quoting EWROwznj00 (Reply 5): As for Tennent, I always knew it was a town from the exit 29 sign off Route 18,
That sign is actually refering to the Tennent Road exit in Marlboro, Tennent Road runs from Manalapan, Through Tennent and finnally into Marlboro. Tennent road is pretty much the main street for Tennent, but less than a 1/4 mile of the 10 mile road is in the Tennent section of Manalapan.
