OzJet Needs Branson Type Promotions?

Perhaps OzJet needs some Richard Branson type promotions to get their awareness up in the marketplace, OR, they need to do some Southwest type giveaways.

Apparently, with 9 week Australian school holidays already upon us & business traffic starting to drop off for Xmas holidays very soon, you'd think they'd be doing all sorts of contra deals to get bums in seats, espcially for non peak hour flights !!!

Any comments?

Well Stoddy's got a Branson-type in a fellow Brit involved in the ads ... Murray Walker ...

Seriously though, how many businesspeople in Australia know Ozjet is owned by Paul Stoddart who use to own Minardi and hence the motorsport / F1 connection?

Those commercials are bloody dredful. It's the kind of quality one expects from some two-bit factory flogging old stocks of carpet, NOT a major national airline.

Rotten rotten rotten.

Not to mention a major national airline that is supposedly a luxury business class airline that targets high yield business travellers ...

The ads actually remind me of those low-budget commercials you see on Northern Territory stations ...

Yeh but compare with QF's choir singing all over the world, which sends the message:-

"we've got heaps of money from overcharging pasengers so much, we can send a choir to all parts of the world to sing a song, which has little to do with running an airline"

Quite the contrary, I think the QF I Still Call Australia Home ad campaign is an absolute masterpiece and certainly one of the best ad campaigns in recent years. The fact it's been around for so long speaks for itself.

The choir is shown in iconic Australian locations or iconic overseas locations, showing that QF is Australia's flag carrier and appealing to both domestic and international flyers ... not to mention showcasing Australia to our overseas visitors.

The choice of music is absolutely brilliant, even if I don't agree with a corporation hijacking a quinessentially Aussie song for commercial benefit.

If you have ever spent some time living overseas and you hop on a QF flight at, say, LHR, and see that commercial on your IFE before take-off, you will understand what I mean.
