Apparently Etihad was the only airline to allow him to use their livery.....
Perhaps the others were scared of the press if it crashed... Big grin

There was a thread about this a couple of months ago. Do a search and you'll find more pics of it, and some great videos of RC aircraft.

Thats brilliant!
Where can I buy one? I'm amazed just how big it actually is (the model, not the real thing! lol)

Damn, I want one of those toys. Only problem is, the whalejet is still ugly even as a mineature  biggrin . The thing climbs faster than a real A340 though...lol

Man, did you see the ruts that thing left in the grass... Why the expenses the grass fields will be required to incur to upgrade...  Smile

rotfl  What, no height of fuselage drop to thunk on the runway?

I'm curious myself. They sounded like the model gas turbines, but I'm curious as to which version. (They do come in many thrusts.)

$12k for something that can be toothpicks with one wrong turn...  spin  ok, almost wants me to take back up model airplanes again.

Does anyone have a link on details? E.g., what scale is this model?

Definitely cool.

Wouldn't it be amazing to fit that plane with a bunch of video cameras and have real-life feed down to a monitor? Install some really long range remote controls, night vision...  cool   cloudnine

$$$expensive hobby$$$
