I wish I was a bit quicker with my camera. After a recent flight, we were taxiing to the gate in Atlanta. While we passed one of the concourses, I looked out the window and saw what would have been the perfect picture for this site. Parked side by side were three planes at three gates. In front was a Delta 757 in the second livery (1997), behind it was a plane (I couldn't see what type - maybe a 757) in the new livery. And just behind that was an L-1011 in, of course, the old colors. The tails were lined up just right in a row so you could see clearly each color scheme. Delta's past and present. It was beautiful. Damn! I wish I got to my camera before we passed it.

I prefer the 1997 scheme over the new one too, there's just too much white on the new one.
If they had put a thin red and a thick blue cheatline between the white color and the bare metal of the fuselage it would look much better imho.
Perhaps this would even look better, if they would use a light grayish blue like in the lower part of the tail to paint the lower part of the fuselage instead of leaving it bare metal.
The worst thing is, that there is no logo or Delta title on the tail. Every big airline has its logo on the tail, I can't understand why they "forgot" that.

The new Deltaflot colours are OK, the white fuselage I kind of like (looks very sporty for some reason). But it's goig to cost millions of dollars and I don't see how it will get them even a single extra customer! A couple of seat sales would have done the job just fine. And the tail colours are so bland! What does it mean? The old-new livery was conservative but by using a cheatline it meant they looked different and it was smart and had the logo on the tail.
I think DL are a crap airline, have poor service, inedible catering, poor punctuality and old, old planes. At least NW have a big fleet of A320s (and A319s) and they know who they are. (BTW, my poor opinion of DL is based on many flights with them, not something I'm guessing, or having once flown with them as a child.)

Delta is the best airline in the world. All of the other airlines are feces except Delta. Their new paint scheme is sooo beatiful that it is heavenly, when I see one in real life I think I'm going to feces in my paints. AAL is very nice too. But not as nice as DAL. UAL, looks like hell because they are soooo dark!

As I said in an earlier post, I don't care for the "new" new Delta colors - that tail is just horrible. What were they thinking? The "new" colors we're crisp and distinct. Very classy. I wish they would start over - besides I'm a "widget" lover.

I don't see to much simularities between Delta's tail and the Russian flag. Although I do see some simularities between Deltas Tail and Aeroflots new tail. Maybe thats what people are talking about LH423. Take a look...
As for what I think of Delta's new look, I aggree, to much white!!! When ever I get some extra time I might create a little site for you all to link too and get your opinion on some of the modifications I made to their new scheme. I am also working on a new look for Southwest Airlines just for fun.
