There have been rumour's that United might start a daily ORD-ZRH in codeshare with LX. Is there any news regarding this?

Could it be, that UA is just moving their stopover in IAD (from the SFO-ZRH flight) to ORD?

UA has already put its code on LX's ORD-ZRH. It is kinda weird becuse for a while that flight is going to carry both AA and UA codes which is very rare.

I highly doubt that US will fly their own equipment ORD-ZRH. And the LX codeshare exists already as previously stated.

I would expect to see expansion to Europe from IAD as soon as equioment becomes available. But from ORD - I doubt it.

Actually, AA no longer codeshares on ORD-ZRH. The remaining transatlantic codeshares AA has with LX are JFK, MIA, and BOS. Both LAX and ORD have gone over to UA now. AA still codeshares on LX flights out of ZRH to other European destinations though.

I tend to agree but dont forget that VIE will start up next year, out of ORD. They codeshare with OS out of IAD. I am sure you will see UA head to CPH as soon as they have the equipment as well, but from where, who knows??

UA already has ORD-ZRH with a single flight number on the ORD-IAD-ZRH segment.

sorry, I thought that was a slated to happen next year for sure. It will happen, we'll just have to wait for the usual press release.

I don't think that there is a need for two daily flights ORD-ZRH within the same alliance. Either LX gives up its own flights or, as mentioned, UA code-shares with the LX.
